(Wyoming) – Taking care of our own is the Wyoming way. Even if “our own” have four legs.
Tripp, an injured Blue Heeler, was found wandering near H&N Gold Field Services near Reliance, Wyoming (just north of Rock Springs.) A Good Samaritan who found the dog immediately went into action, giving him some much needed water and calling animal control.
Tripp was picked up and transported by Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Animal Control Officer Chris Thomas. The pup was then treated at Mountainaire Animal Clinic in Rock Springs.
Meanwhile, in neighboring Sublette County a worried family shared photos of their missing dog after a freak trailer accident had caused Tripp to fall from an enclosed horse trailer. Thanks to ACO Thomas, Tripp was positively identified by the family and transported to the Big Piney area where he happily reunited with his worried family.
“Calling Animal Control allows us to act as a central point of contact for lost pets,” Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Chris Thomas said. “Owners are often actively checking with us. Working together gives animals the best chance of getting home.”
