The Dollar Lake Fire is 19,487 acres and is 63% contained.
Work continues around the perimeter with securing and mop-up operations on both flanks. Crews are finding success with indirect strategies in the wilderness, particularly in rugged terrain where direct engagement poses increased risk. Accessing portions of this wilderness requires a boat ride—an extra layer of challenge. Firefighter and public safety remain the highest priorities throughout the incident.
Yesterday’s precipitation caused muddy roads and challenging conditions for crews. Steady progress is still being made while adapting to these conditions. Crews are engaged in the northern area of the fire, constructing a shaded fuel break near the outfitter camp. Road repair is being completed around Red Cliff Bible Camp; water/sprinkler systems that are no longer being utilized in this area is proactively being removed. The chipping operation to reduce suppression debris and rehabilitate roads near Green River Lakes Campground is ongoing and productive.
Crews have noted wildlife incursions in and around the fire area. Ground crews and air operations are taking precautions to ensure safety for both responders and displaced animals.
WEATHER
A cold front is moving into the area with predicted lows in the low 20s and the highs in the 50s. Isolated showers are possible on Tuesday afternoon with a 40% chance of precipitation. Drier and warmer conditions begin to move in late Wednesday and continue through Friday, before active weather returns for the weekend.
