(Wyoming) – Former United States President and current Republican Presidential candidate, Donald Trump appeared on the Barstool Sports podcast, ‘Bussin’ With The Boys’ this week.
Amongst a variety of topics discussed, Trump spent a few moments on his attempt to purchase the Buffalo Bills in 2014. Ultimately though, it was not Trump who bought the team. Instead, it was petroleum engineer and billionaire businessman, Terry Pegula.
“He’s a very good man, I think he’s done a great job,” Trump complimented Pegula. “Well, he made a very good pick, he picked a great quarterback, right? Josh [Allen.]”
Trump credited both Allen and Pegula for ignoring some controversy around the former Wyoming quarterback right before the draft. Twitter comments made by Allen several years earlier had been unearthed by various media members, raising concerns hours before the first round.
“So there are six teams that are saying, you know, they fired their scouting system, right? And people passed on him for that and so number seven was the Bills and he picked him. And, they ended up with one of the best quarterbacks, which is pretty good.”
