(Dubois, WY) – The Dubois School Board has approved an employment contract for new Fremont County School District 2 Superintendent and Special Education Director Dr. Annette Walters.
“We’re really excited to have her join us and for her leadership at the school district,” FCSD 2 Board Chair Tracy Nguyen said during a meeting last month. “I’d like to officially welcome (her).”
Walters is moving to Wyoming from Little Falls, New Jersey, bringing with her “a wide range of experience in education leadership,” FCSD 2 said in a Facebook post announcing her selection.
Nguyen thanked the students, staff members, and teachers who participated in the superintendent selection process.
“It was really critical and really helped us make this decision,” she said. “We’re happy that (she) will be coming on board with us.”
Walters will replace Steve Splichal, who has been appointed as the new superintendent for a school district in Kansas, effective July 1, according to an article from Rock Creek Schools.
