(Dubois, WY) – The Dubois Fire Hall at 8 Third Street has been identified as the new polling station for local voters casting their ballots in Dubois on Election Day.
Fremont County Clerk Julie Freese said the regular Dubois vote center at the Headwaters Arts and Convention Center was unavailable this year due to its use as a command station for crews responding to area fires.
The Fremont County Commission approved the modified voting location for Dubois during a regular meeting last week.
Since then, Freese said she has mailed postcards to residents in the Dubois and Crowheart areas notifying them about the change.
She also announced the new voting location on the Fremont County Clerk’s website and Facebook page, placed advertisements with local media outlets, and sent flyers to Dubois to be posted around town.
“We tried everything we can think of (to) make sure people were aware,” Freese said
For anyone who doesn’t get the message, Freese said signs will be posted at the Headwaters Arts and Convention Center on Election Day telling people to vote at the Dubois Fire Hall, where flags and other signage will be in place directing voters to the new location.
The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day – Tuesday, Nov. 5.
