Each week, staff at Dubois High School nominate a student who has shown outstanding behavior toward their peers and in their academics. At the end of the year, County 10 will award a $500 scholarship to one of the nominated students! Click here to view all nominated students.
Ariel Palermo was nominated as the Dubois High School student of the week by Bev Hawkins.
Mrs. Hawkins stated, “Ariel’s word is resilience. This word perfectly sums up a girl who has overcome difficulties with grace and beauty. Ariel’s life has involved hardships that would break an average person’s spirit, but Ariel has overcome tragedy, loss and hardship, emerging more beautiful on the other side.”
Ariel is a hard-working Junior involved in volleyball, yearbook, and publishing the school news magazine, The Ram’s Horn. She enjoys crafts, and is developing her skills as a photographer and writer. Ariel, who lives with Patricia Neveaux, plans to attend college after high school.
