Each week, staff at Dubois High School nominate a student who has shown outstanding behavior toward their peers and in their academics. At the end of the year, County 10 will award a $500 scholarship to one of the nominated students! Click here to view all nominated students.
Gideon Cyrus was nominated as the Dubois High School student of the week by Bev Hawkins.
Gideon is a sophomore who enjoys wrestling and drawing. Social Studies teacher Mrs. Hawkins says, "Gideon is one of the rare and unique individuals who thinks deeply and really contemplates the larger of meaning of life. One day in history class, he mentioned he had read the Iliad and The Odyssey and he went so far to explain them to us. Gideon seems comfortable being just who he is, which is a remarkable trait in such a young individual. Gideon is a joy in class and to all those around him. He has a bright future!" Gideon plans to pursue a job in graphic design and would like to voice act.
