The Dubois School Board approved the Fremont County School District 2 budget and salary schedule for fiscal year 2024-2025 during a special meeting last week.
The budget includes $5.9 million in the general fund and $1.58 million in special revenues, or grants, according to staff.
The major maintenance fund contains $700,000, and the special depreciation fund is set at $25,000.
There is almost $240,000 in the food service fund, and staff said the district will participate in the fresh fruits and vegetables program again in 2024-2025 after a brief hiatus.
The pre-school fund is set at $10,000, and the rental property management fund contains about $53,700.
The district rarely uses its athletic trust fund, which contains $15,000, staff said, and the student activity fund is set at $40,000.
The adult education fund was approved by its own board at about $278,000, staff said.
Other funds supported by mill levies include the Never Sweat Recreation Board and the Fremont County Board of Cooperative Educational Services.
For the salary chart, staff said they “reworked” the numbers this year to increase base salaries “across the board” – except for substitute teachers, who saw pay increases during the COVID-19 pandemic.
