(Dubois, WY) – The Dubois Town Council will hold a regular meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, in the Council Chambers at Dubois Town Hall, 712 Meckem Street.
The agenda includes a presentation from Lynn Neurberg on the Dubois Chamber of Commerce Cowboy Christmas event on Nov. 30, featuring a discussion about use of the town owned property at Horse Creek Road and Ramshorn Street.
The council will also discuss Dubois Police Department firearms qualification and hear progress reports from the following recipients of half percent sales tax funding for economic development:
- Wind River Valley Artists Guild
- Wilderness Flower Company (no report submitted)
- Betty the Black Brew Bus (no report submitted)
Action items on the agenda include a resolution authorizing the mayor to pursue federal grant and loan funds through the United States Department of Agriculture for an air diffusion system lagoon aeration system.
The council will also consider removing a Wind River Valley Artists Guild item from the table referencing the lease agreement of 2017 between the Guild and the Town of Dubois.
If the item is removed from the table, the agenda indicates the council will “discuss the walkthrough of Oct. 2, 2025.”
Another action item on the agenda references the WRVAG, which “has indicated that no payment will be made to the town to cover the costs of cleaning and making repairs to the portion of the Headwaters Community Arts and Conference Center (Headwaters) they rented (upstairs) pursuant to the vacation of the facility.”
“They are requesting payment to them from the funds received from the Forest Service paid to the Headwaters board for use of the facility during the 2024 Fish Creek/Pack Trail fires as they cancelled events and closed during that time,” the agenda states. “There was no lease agreement signed with the Forest Service for use of the upstairs portion of the facility.”
Other action items on the agenda include:
- consider ratifying an Airport Board appointment
- consider removing the Wind River Visitor’s Council – appointment dismissal from the table
- consider approving a TAD grant reimbursement
- consider approving temporary catering permits
- consider authorizing release of $6,852 to the High Country Senior Center from the General Fund
- consider approving accounts payable
- consider approving TAD funds payable
- consider accepting the September 2025 Financial Report
