(Dubois, WY) – The Dubois Town Council will hold a regular meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, in the Council Chambers at Dubois Town Hall, 712 Meckem Street.
The agenda includes a presentation from Toby Birr about fireworks.
The council will also discuss the two “floating holidays” the mayor may approve in each calendar year.
Those holidays will take place on Nov. 26 and Dec. 26 this year, according to the agenda.
Action items
There are eight action items on Wednesday’s agenda, including a request from the Wind River Valley Artists Guild regarding a 2017 lease agreement between the Guild and the Town of Dubois.
“The WRVAG has indicated that no payment will be made to the Town to cover the costs of cleaning and making repairs to the portion of the Headwaters Community Arts and Conference Center (Headwaters) they rented (upstairs) pursuant to the vacation of the facility,” the agenda item states. “They are requesting payment to them from the funds received from the Forest Service paid to the Headwaters board for use of the facility during the 2024 Fish Creek/Pack Trail fires as they cancelled events and closed during that time.”
The council will also consider approving a resolution supporting a request for state airport aid from the Wyoming Department of Transportation Aeronautics Division, and they will consider ratifying the mayor’s dismissal of Dave Furman from the Wind River Visitor’s Council.
The mayor will sit on the WRVC board until a replacement can be appointed, according to the agenda.
Other action items on Wednesday’s agenda include:
- approve a TAD grant reimbursement request
- cancel or reschedule the Nov. 26 and Dec. 24 council meetings
- approve accounts payable
- approve TAD accounts payable
- accept the August 2025 financial report
An executive session will be held if necessary before adjournment.
