(Fremont County, WY) – The Fremont County Fire Protection District responded to a grass fire in the 400 block of 8 Mile Road today, April 21, according to a release shared by the Fremont County Fire Protection District.

The fire originated from a controlled burn that became out of control after the responsible party experienced mechanical issues with a water pump. The individual promptly notified emergency services, and fire personnel responded to contain and extinguish the fire.
Units from Central Fire (Battalion-1) and Midvale Fire (Battalion-8) responded to the incident. Firefighters worked to stop the forward spread and secure the area. No injuries were reported.
The incident serves as a reminder to ensure all equipment is in proper working order before conducting any open burning and to have adequate resources on hand.
