(Fremont County, WY) – At approximately 12:40 PM today, June 16, Fremont County Fire Protection District responded to multiple grass fires along Highway 789 near Mile Marker 96, according to a FCFPD release issued late Tuesday afternoon.

Central Fire Battalion #1 and Hudson Fire Battalion #10 responded to the incident, with assistance from the Riverton Fire District. Upon arrival, firefighters located four separate grass fires, each approximately one mile apart. Crews quickly deployed suppression efforts and successfully contained and extinguished all four fires, limiting the total burned area to approximately 3.3 acres.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fires remains under investigation.
