(Jeffrey City, WY) – On June 7, 2026, Fremont County Fire Protection District Central Fire Battalion-1 responded to assist the Jeffrey City Fire Department with a wildland fire off Ore Road in the area of Black Rock Draw.
Fire crews from the Jeffrey City Fire Department, Central Fire Battalion-1, and BLM Fire worked together to contain and extinguish the fire, which burned approximately 1.7 acres. Through a coordinated response and rapid suppression efforts, firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading beyond its initial footprint.
The cause of the fire is believed to be lightning-related.
