(Dubois, WY) – The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) has released further information on the fatal rollover crash that occurred on Horse Creek Road in Dubois on October 13.
The deceased has been identified as John Mitsoyianis, 64, from Washington.
The preliminary report states that Mitsoyianis was northbound on Horse Creek Road when he “failed to negotiate a left-hand curve.”
Mitsoyianis’ vehicle then entered a passenger-side leading slide, the report continues, at which point he “overcorrected to the right,” causing the vehicle to “trip and roll approximately one and a half times.’
While rolling, the vehicle struck a barbed wire fence and landed on its roof.
The report also states that speed is being looked into as a possible contributing factor, and that no seatbelt was in use.
There have been 84 fatalities reported on Wyoming’s roadways so far in 2024.
