(Arapahoe, WY) – An ATV crash that occurred on the evening of August 28 in Arapahoe resulted in one fatality, according to the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office preliminary report posted today, August 31.
The deceased was identified in the report as 58-year-old Wyoming resident Robert Harris.
The crash took place near the .7 mile marker on Sharp Nose Road in the Arapahoe area, the report states, where Harris was traveling southbound in the ATV “at a high rate of speed.”
Harris “failed to negotiate a right-hand curve and exited the roadway to the left,” the report goes on to inform, at which point the vehicle rolled “at least once,” and came to a rest “on the left side of the roadway in the ditch.”
The report indicates that speed was a possible contributing factor in the crash, and that no helmet was in use. Weather conditions were clear, and the road conditions were listed as “mud/dirt/gravel.”
The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office call log issued on August 31 states that the death is under investigation by the County Coroner’s Office.
There have been 74 deaths reported on Wyoming roadways in 2026 to date.
