(Saint Stephens, WY) – The Fremont County Coroner’s Office has ruled a February 9, 2025, stabbing incident as a homicide, according to the public records docket obtained by County 10 on March 3.
The incident resulted in the death of 33-year-old Sydney Willow, the report states.
The report indicates the cause of death was “stab wounds to the chest,” and the manner of death was ruled as a “homicide.” No relevant toxicology was released in the report.
The incident was reported in the February 10 Fremont County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) call log, which stated that the FCSO assisted the Wind River Police Department (WRPD) with the call.
The stabbing took place on the 700 block of Rendezvous Road in Saint Stephens (federal jurisdiction), and the call for assistance from the Wind River Police Department to the FCSO was made at 9:41 PM on February 9, according to the call log entry. No additional details were shared in that log entry.
That February 10 FCSO call log also informed that a Coroner call was made at 9:34 PM, which was labeled as a “stab/gunshot” call.
After submitting for the Coroner’s Office public docket report (which can take weeks to be completed depending on their investigation), County 10 reached out to the FBI Denver Field Office for additional details.
In this instance, the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) is the leading agency, and the FBI is not involved in the investigation. Historically, the BIA does not provide details to the media during active investigations, or in general.
As of this writing, no federal charges involving a homicide have been filed in the U.S. District Court – District of Wyoming digital registry.
