UPDATE: As of about 11:15 AM, an update on the Watch Duty app estimates the fire to be at 75 acres.
(Shoshoni, WY) – Shortly after 9:00 a.m. Saturday morning County 10 was notified that a fire is spreading rapidly along the Wind River Canyon between Boysen Dam and Thermopolis. The fire is burning adjacent to the railroad tracks, or west of Highway 20.
Information about the start of the fire is unconfirmed thus far.
WYDOT indicates that US 20 / WY 789 remains open to traffic, however vehicles should use extreme caution around responding emergency personnel.
County 10 will update when more information is available.
