CooXooEii Black graduated from Colorado College this May. Next, he will to transfer to the University of Memphis where he will continue his creative writing endeavors, eventually hoping to publish his poetry.
Before the fall semester, he’s working with Riverton’s MakerSpace 307 to polish up his woodworking skills. In his spare time, he picked up a new camera in hopes to continue another hobby, photography.
CooXooEii is also a basketball star.
The former Lander Valley High School standout accepted a basketball scholarship to Colorado College 4 years ago. In his sophomore year, Black started every game. He got better his junior year. His senior year, he was voted the college’s Male Athlete of the Year. At a school that has a powerhouse men’s hockey program, no less.
Black is the only Colorado College basketball player to get more than 1,500 career points and over 600 career rebounds.
CooXooEii sat down with the County 10 Kickoff Podcast recently to discuss his basketball career and potential to play at the next level. He also chats about his background, his future, his hopes to make Fremont County a better place, and his many hobbies away from sports.
