It was tough sledding for Fremont County wrestlers in the boys’ division of the Shane Shatto Memorial Tournament in Douglas. Only four Fremont County wrestlers placed in what many consider the “Ron Thon” of the East in Converse County.
Riverton, Lander, Shoshoni and Dubois each placed a wrestler on the awards stand.
Landon Jones of Lander led the county contingent with a fourth-place finish at 144 pounds. Riverton’s Jackson Larsen was sixth in the same weight class. Wiley Philleo of Shoshoni was fifth at 157-pounds, and Dubois’ 215-pound wrestler, Siler Hess, was also fifth.
