Pet owners on the Wind River Indian Reservation will have an opportunity to spay or neuter their pets for free Friday, April 26th and Saturday, April 27th.
A free clinic will be held at Arapaho School, located at 445 Little Windriver Bottom Rd beginning at 8:30 a.m. both days. Space is limited for the services, and it is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Those wishing to use the services are asked to bring your tribal card. Animal Adoption Center from Jackson will be on hand to perform the procedures. They ask that you do not feed your animal on the morning of surgery.
Staff at the Lander Pet Connection encourages local citizens to take advance of the program, telling us, “the Pet Connection gets hundreds of calls from people with puppies and kittens they don’t want or cannot care for. We can’t take them all because many become stray of feral, leading to thousands of unwanted puppies and kittens. Please be responsible pet owners and spay and neuter your pets.”
