(Shoshoni, WY) – Cathy Gordon and Mary Weymouth were each sentenced to prison and supervised release for various drug-related charges at a hearing overseen by the Honorable Judge Alan B. Johnson in Cheyenne, on July 14, stemming from an incident occurring in November of 2024 when the pair were found to be in possession of pounds of methamphetamine and marijuana while driving back to Fremont County from Las Vegas.
Gordon was originally charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and marijuana, and carrying a firearm during and in relation to a drug trafficking crime.
She was ultimately sentenced to 60 months imprisonment with 4 years supervised release for counts 1 and 4 (the possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and the carrying a firearm during and in relation to a drug trafficking crime charges), to be served concurrently. She was also ordered to pay a $100 special assessment fee for both counts, as well as $500 in community restitution. The remaining counts were dismissed as per stipulations made in a non-public plea agreement filed on March 21.
Weymouth was originally charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, and conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and marijuana.
She was sentenced to 70 months imprisonment with 5 years of supervised release for counts 1 and 3 (the possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and marijuana charges), also to be served concurrently. She was also ordered to pay a $100 special assessment fee for each count and $500 in community restitution. County 2 was dismissed as well, as per stipulations made in a separate non-public plea agreement filed on April 18.
Back in October of 2024, Weymouth was being investigated by local law enforcement due to her “involvement with the distribution of controlled substances in Fremont County,” according to original Riverton Circuit documents filed before the case was upgraded to federal charges.
On October 31, law enforcement communicated with Weymouth to purchase methamphetamine, and she informed agents that someone else would call them back.
That same day, agents received a text from “Krystal,” (later determined to be Gordon) confirming that she could sell a “zip” of methamphetamine for $700.
Those court documents go on to inform that on November 11, law enforcement stopped Weymouth and Gordon in Shoshoni (Weymouth was the driver), after they had been tracked from the Las Vegas area.
After Weymouth was read her rights and she signed the search consent form, law enforcement searched her vehicle, which had an eight-foot carry-on trailer.
Weymouth informed agents that she had six pounds of methamphetamine in the front of the trailer, and that she had marijuana “that she got out of a dumpster.” Both substances later tested presumptive positive.
Meanwhile, Gordon was in possession of methamphetamine that she had in her purse and suitcase, court documents also informed. She had 74 grams of methamphetamine in her purse, and 151 grams in her suitcase. The suitcase also had 2.2 pounds of marijuana. Both substances in her possession also later tested presumptive positive.
The local charges were ultimately dismissed on January 24 when the pair was indicted federally, according to court filings, resulting in the July 14 sentences.
