(Fremont County, WY) – At 12:51 PM on today’s date, Fremont County Fire Protection District crews responded to a reported grass fire in the area of E. Pavilion Road.
Units from Pavillion Fire (Battalion 7), Midvale Fire (Battalion 8), Central Fire (Battalion 1), and Morton-Kinnear Fire (Battalion 5) were dispatched to the incident. Upon arrival, firefighters located a rapidly spreading grass fire fueled by dry vegetation and wind conditions.
Fire crews worked collaboratively to contain and control the blaze, which was ultimately held to 20.7 acres (Note: Early Watch Duty App/scanner traffic reports estimated the fire to be 30 acres). Crews remained on scene conducting mop-up operations to eliminate hot spots and prevent rekindle.
No structures were damaged and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
