All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
Dennison Antelope, 30, of Fremont County is facing one count of Strangulation of a Household Member, one count of Domestic Battery, and one count of Interference with a Peace Officer.
On September 5, 2020 the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a residence in Riverton for a domestic disturbance.
Upon arrival, a Sheriff’s Deputy reported that a female victim described to him that Dennison Antelope, “hit her about three times” and that her head and jaw were in pain.
Court documents show that after an investigation on scene, Antelope was believed to have been under the influence of methamphetamine and alcohol at the time of the altercation. The female victim continued to describe that Antelope, “forced her up against the rear passenger side of her vehicle and used his left hand to strangle her while forcing her against the vehicle.” Antelope was later arrested at a different location.
His preliminary hearing was waived on September 23rd and the matter will be transferred to District Court at a later date.
Strangulation of a Household Member is a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison, Domestic Battery is a misdemeanor and punishable by up to 6 months of imprisonment and a fine of up to $750, and Interference with a Peace Officer is a misdemeanor and punishable by up to 1 year of imprisonment and a fine of up to $1,000.
