FREMONT COUNTY, Wyo. – As Fremont County voters prepare for the Aug. 18 election, the Fremont County DUI Task Force, with the help of Fremont County Prevention, has invited candidates for Fremont County Sheriff to share their views on the future of two important impaired-driving prevention and public safety efforts in Fremont County.
The questions focus on the future of the 24/7 Sobriety Program and the Multi-Jurisdictional DUI Enforcement Team, programs that rely on cooperation among law enforcement agencies and community partners to help make Fremont County roads safer.
- The 24/7 Sobriety Program provides ongoing alcohol monitoring through traditional twice-daily in-person testing as well as remote options. Fremont County has maintained active participation in the program in Riverton, with opportunities identified for expansion into Lander and outlying areas of the county.
- The Fremont County Multi-Jurisdictional DUI Enforcement Team brings local, state and federal law enforcement agencies together for coordinated, data-driven impaired-driving enforcement. These efforts have included the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office, Riverton and Lander Police Departments, Wyoming Highway Patrol, Wind River agencies, BIA, Shoshoni Police Department and other partners.

- If elected Sheriff, what role do you believe the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office should play in sustaining and expanding the Fremont County DUI Task Force and its Multi-Jurisdictional DUI Enforcement Team?
