(Fremont County, WY) – Local varsity soccer teams saw some intense action over the last few days. Lander Valley High School played at Mountain View Saturday with both boys and girls games coming down to the wire.
The LVHS boys escaped with a 2-1 win over a quality opponent. The Tigers are ranked 2nd in class 3A while Mountain View is #3 in the latest WyoPreps Coaches & Media poll. Lander’s ladies tied 1-1 with the Buffaloes to end regulation and would ultimately win a wild shootout 4-3, claiming a conference victory.
Lander will be at Powell Tuesday and visit Cody Saturday. The Tigers have a make-up game versus Pinedale at home set for May 6th after the original contest on April 17th was postponed due to weather.
Riverton’s boys and girls visited Rock Springs last Thursday with the Lady Wolverines winning their 5th in a row, 2-0 and the boys falling 4-0.
Saturday the Wolverine squads played at home against Green River, the boys game ended in a 1-1 draw and the Riverton girls fell by a 2-1 final, snapping their winning streak.
RHS soccer is back in action Thursday at Jackson. Varsity teams return home Friday to battle Star Valley.
