With just a month remaining in the track season, three Fremont County athletes have posted the best times or distances in all four divisions of Wyoming High School track and field.
Lander has a pair of girls in the top position.
Dorothy Jensen has the fastest time in the state in the 1600-meter run. She posted a 5:01.58 in the Riverton – Lander Dual at the Wolverine Track last week, running in a heat with the Tiger and Wolverine boys.
She shattered a 28-year Lander Lady Tiger record in the event in the process.
Fellow Lady Tiger Adelyn Anderson has the best throw in the state in the shot put with a heave of 46-10.5, but that’s well short of her own school record in the event, set during the indoor season when she threw 50-11.5 last February.
Riverton senior Kayden Liebrecht has flirted with the school record in the shot put the last two seasons, but broke the long-standing mark in Powell back on April 11 with a toss of 55-4.5.
Lander junior Paisley Hollingshead is ranked in the top five statewide in four events. She has the Fremont County best in both the 100- and 300-meter hurdles and in the high and long jumps.
Josefina Olsson set a new school record in the pole vault, clearing 10-4, and is among the best in the state in the event.
Riverton sprinter Jameson Spradlin has the fastest times in the 100, 200, and 400-meter dashes in the county and is second in the long jump.
Lander’s Finn McFadden cleared 6-2 to lead the Fremont County high jumpers and is the only county athlete over 22 feet in the long jump.
Lander’s Logan Milek leads all distance runners with top county times in both 800 and 1600-meter runs.
Lander girls hold the top position in 14 of the 18 track and field events.
