Fremont County’s unemployment rate rose slightly from November to December 2018, from 4.6 to 4.7%.
In November 2018, County 10 had the highest unemployment rate in the state. However, Big Horn County saw an unemployment jump from 4.2% in November to 5.2% in December.
Park County also saw an unemployment rate jump going from 4.5% to 4.8%, pushing them to the second-highest unemployment rate.
The lowest Wyoming rates were found in Niobrara County, which is at 2.4% and in Goshen County at 2.9%.
Data suggested that Fremont County’s number of unemployed people dropped from November to December, going from 18,075 to 17,710. However, the overall labor force shrank from 18,943 to 18,590, thus creating a larger unemployment percentage. In December 2017, Fremont County’s unemployment rate was 5.2% with a labor force of 19,181.
