Fremont Therapy Group is proud to announce its expanded partnership with Wind River schools and surrounding Fremont County communities through the direct involvement of Delaney Umholtz, PT, DPT, CSMS- Level 1, a licensed physical therapist at Fremont Therapy Group. This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to youth health, injury prevention, and performance support in athletics.
Beginning with the 2024 football season, Delaney worked hands-on with the Wind River High School football team, offering sideline support, injury assessments, and ongoing recovery care. Her role included taping, manual therapy, cupping, and ice treatments, while also guiding players, coaches, and families on when more advanced medical care or imaging might be necessary.
As the season transitioned into winter sports, Delaney continued her support through wrestling season, attending duals, tournaments, and championship events across Fremont County, including regionals and the state tournament. Her on-the-mat presence allowed her to assist with acute injuries, apply supportive taping, and keep athletes competing safely throughout the season.
“We’re not just treating injuries; we’re helping athletes understand their bodies, manage pain, and make informed decisions about their health,” said Umholtz. “It’s incredibly rewarding to be that resource for athletes, coaches, and families. Especially as someone who’s been in their shoes.”
Beyond direct event coverage, Delaney also brought her expertise into the classroom. She spoke to Wind River’s higher-level physical education and weight training classes, focusing on injury prevention, squatting and deadlifting technique, jumping and landing mechanics, hip mobility, and force absorption strategies.
“These interactive sessions helped students understand how mobility and technique can impact their performance and injury risk,” said Umholtz. “And it was great to hear from teachers that students really connected with the material.”
This expanded involvement aligns with Fremont Therapy Group’s mission to provide long-term wellness solutions and empower young athletes to care for their bodies effectively and safely.
