(Riverton, WY) – The City of Riverton is pleased to announce the selection of Gary Michaud as its new Community Development Director. With over 20 years of experience in administration, strategic planning, and community engagement in both the private and public sectors, Gary is poised to lead the city’s growth and development initiatives, with a focus on building strong community partnerships and enhancing public services.
Gary holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Broadcasting/Business from the University of Wyoming. His professional background includes serving as Vice President of Administration at Wyoming Catholic College, where he led strategic planning, capital improvement projects, and human resource initiatives. He also supported the Fremont County Association of Governments as its Administrator. At the Wind River Transportation Authority, Gary managed a $3.5 million budget and played a crucial role in securing over $4 million in funding for local transportation and economic development projects.
Additionally, Gary served as the Community Resource Coordinator for the City of Lander, where he successfully secured millions in grants for initiatives such as the Lander Community Center and Lander Business Park. With extensive experience in building collaborative partnerships with local governments, businesses, and residents, Gary is dedicated to achieving shared community goals.
