It was a huge meet in Hot Springs County with 25 teams across the western half of Wyoming in attendance. Boys and girls track teams from Kemmerer to Worland and Saratoga to Cowley made for an exciting meet on a perfect day at the Thermopolis oval.
The Worland girls and Lovell and Thermopolis boys dominated the meet, but Shoshoni’s phenomenal distance runner, Alyssa Good, won the 1600, and vastly improving Wrangler junior Brody Shepard ran a 2:04 to take runner-up in the 800.
Riverton had a pair of second-place pole vaulters in Caleb Buskohl, who cleared 12 feet, and Addison Peart, with a 7-6 vault.
Most of the Riverton varsity competed in Gilette on Friday.
A handful of teams are now competing in a diminished Shane Brock Memorial Track Meet in Lander today, Saturday.
