(Riverton, WY) – The Fremont County School District 25 Board of Trustees will hold a regular meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, in the Board Chambers at 121 North Fifth Street West in Riverton.
The consent agenda includes the following policies on second reading: amended Policy 5100 “Family and Medical Leave,” Policy 3210 “Meal Charge,” and New Policy 1056 “Firearms: Personnel Authorized to Carry.”
During the round table portion of the meeting, the board will receive an Activities/Athletics Department update from Max Mills and hear from Katie Peay of the Riverton Rotary Club.
Further discussion regarding the Riverton Rotary Interact Club will take place later in the meeting.
There are three action items on the agenda:
- accept a $52,775 grant from the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality to reimburse the replacement of one school bus used for student transportation
- accept a $34,000 ExxonMobile STEM Grant award, which will be used to purchase supplies and equipment to support STEM Education for the 2025-2026 school year
- offer a contract to Talon Thoman as a Riverton Middle School Assistant Seventh Grade Football Coach
Information items on the agenda include an update to the Riverton High School Handbook and a Revised Policy 6100-R “Request for Approval of a New School Activity.”
The board will also receive notifications of habitually truant, willfully absent, and 10-day drop students; learn about classified staff changes; and review an enrollment report before adjournment.
Tuesday’s meeting will be preceded by a 5 p.m. work session to discuss the Most Cost-Effective Remedy (MCER) study.
The meeting is open to the public for in-person attendance and will be streamed live on the district’s YouTube channel, where past meeting recordings are also stored.
