(Fremont County, WY) – A Level 1 chain law is in effect for portions of WY 28 South Pass roads for February 18, as of at least 10:30 AM, according to WYDOT/wyoroadinfo.com.
The chain law is in effect for roads “Between the Fremont/Sublette Cty Line and Atlantic City Rd” and “between Atlantic City Rd and Mile Marker 63, Westbound Closure Gate.”
WYDOT defines a Level 1 chain law as when “conditions are hazardous, travel can be restricted to: vehicles equipped with tire chains; or vehicles with adequate snow tires; or all-wheel-drive vehicles.”
Conditions are listed as “Slick in Spots with Snowfall, Dangerous Winds.”
An “Extreme Blowover Risk” weight restriction advisory has also been issued for all high-profile vehicles under 35000 GVW.
The advisory is in effect for areas “Between the Fremont/Sublette Cty Line and Atlantic City Rd.;” “Between Atlantic City Rd and Mile Marker 63, Westbound Closure Gate;” and “Between Mile Marker 63, Westbound Closure Gate and US 287 / WY 789.”
