(Fremont County, WY) – There will be outdoor warning siren testing occurring tomorrow, May 5, to complete the installation of three outdoor warning sirens at Rocky Mountain Hall in Fort Washakie, at the Blue Sky Hall in Ethete, and in the vicinity of Great Plains Hall in Arapahoe, the Eastern Shoshone Tribe recently shared on its Facebook page.
The three outdoor warning sirens will provide the Wind River Reservation with another important warning system to alert the area of all-hazards. Outdoor warning sirens will provide outdoor warning alerts, and should be an initial warning alert so you can move indoors and listen to local media or listen via commercial radio or NOAA Weather Radio for more information regarding an impending all-hazards event.
The three outdoor warning sirens were purchased with 2024 BIA Tribal Resilience funding.
Plans are for a monthly test of each of the outdoor warning sirens to ensure that the siren systems are in perfect working order.
