UPDATE: As of at least 9:45 AM, all restrictions for South Pass roads have been lifted.
UPDATE: As of at least 9:20 AM, the closure has been lifted for US 287 / WY 789: “Between Sweetwater Station Jct and Jct WY 28 / US 287.”
(Fremont County, WY) – The following road closures issued by WYDOT on October 29 will remain in effect as of October 30:
- US 287 / WY 789: “Between Sweetwater Station Jct and Jct WY 28 / US 287”
- WY 135: “Between WY 139 and Sweetwater Station Jct”
As of 6:30 AM, the estimated opening time for US 287 / WY 789 and WY 135 is between 1 and 3:00 PM.
WY 28 South Pass Roads have been reduced to a no unnecessary travel advisory for areas “Between the Fremont/Sublette Cty Line and Atlantic City Rd.” and “Between Atlantic City Rd and Mile Marker 63, Westbound Closure Gate.”
These roads are also currently under a Level 2 Chain Law restriction.
WYDOT defines a Level 2 chain law as: “Under Level 2, commercial vehicles must have chains on at least two of the drive wheels at opposite ends of the same drive axle.”
The remaining WY 28 roads “Between Mile Marker 63, Westbound Closure Gate and US 287 / WY 789” are open for travel.
No unnecessary travel advisories remain in effect for:
- WY 135: “Between WY 789 and WY 139”
- WY 136 “Between WY 135 and Gas Hills”
