(Fremont County, WY) – WY 28 roads in the South Pass area are currently closed to all box trailers and high-profile vehicles due to 90+mph crosswinds, as of 1 PM on March 14. Passenger vehicles are permitted to travel, but scanner traffic also indicates reports of a one-vehicle rollover near milepost 59.
The estimated opening time is currently unknown, according to WYDOT.
The closure is in effect for areas “Between the Fremont/Sublette Cty Line and Atlantic City Rd.;” “Between Atlantic City Rd and Mile Marker 63, Westbound Closure Gate;” and “Between Mile Marker 63, Westbound Closure Gate and US 287 / WY 789.”
