(Fremont County, WY) – Union Pass Road, between Dubois and Pinedale, is closed immediately for October 8, according to a post shared on the District 5 WYDOT Facebook page.
The closure is for the road in the forest between Union Pass and Buffalo Meadow, and was issued due to “fire behavior and firefighter safety reasons.”
The post also shared that the fire is moving south, toward the road in the area of Cowboy Camp and Raspberry RAWS Station.
A separate post shared on the U.S. Forest Service-Bridger-Teton National Forest Facebook page adds that the closure is until further notice, and advises to “Please avoid the area and use alternate routes for your safety.”
