(Pavillion, WY) – The Town of Pavillion water system experienced a loss of pressure due to a water main break this evening, the Wind River Recreation District shared on its Facebook page Monday night, August 17.
“Until further notice, it is advised that all residents who may be affected boil their water for 3 minutes before drinking it,” the post states. “This includes brushing teeth, making ice, washing dishes, and food preparation. This notice will be effective until further notice.”
The post also states that the town’s water will be turned off for approximately 4 hours on August 18th or 19th to permanently fix the break.
“We will do our best to alert residents when it will be turned off, and again when it is turned back on.”

In response to the water break, Wind River Schools shared the following message:
“Due to the potential contamination of the potable water source school in Pavillion will be closed Tuesday, August 18. School will continue in Crowheart.”
