(Riverton, WY) – The Riverton High School girls soccer program spent some time demonstrating and teaching their skills to much younger athletes last week.
Lady Wolverines Assistant Coach Jarrett Watson explained that teaching these ladies about giving back to the community is important, but that they also needed a night of fun. “They take soccer very seriously, we have intense practices and games, so sometimes it’s good to force them to have some fun.”
Last week, Riverton had a Tuesday game versus Evanston and a Thursday contest against Jackson. So instead of having a full-blown practice of their own between games on Wednesday, Head Coach Aziz Waheed and his assistants decided to send most of the team’s athletes to Rein Park to help U6, U8, U10 and U12 teams practice, and have a little fun.
And by the way, the varsity ladies won both of those games and are currently rolling on a four game win streak right now.
Riverton girls and boys varsity soccer plays again on Thursday, April 24th at Rock Springs. They’ll return home Saturday, April 26th to play Green River at Wolverine Field.
