(Shoshoni, WY) – On April 29, seven Shoshoni sixth graders, along with five eighth graders, traveled to the University of Wyoming in Laramie to compete in the Wyoming History Day competition. Middle school students from across the state gathered in the Gem City for the competition.
Shoshoni fared well in the competition, with three students moving on to represent Wyoming at the National History Day competition in Maryland next month.
The competition takes place at the University of Maryland in College Park from June 8 to 12.
Shoshoni placed one-two in the Junior Division with a pair of sixth graders taking top honors.
Gretta Kassens placed first with her Website on Temple Grandin. Brogan Crimm placed second with his Documentary on The Homestead Act.
Shoshoni 8th grader, Alyssa Good placed first in her division with an Individual Exhibit on Radiant Face: The Tragic Story of the Radium Girls.
