Wyoming Indian senior Michaela Hiwalker has signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball for the Lady Eagles of Northwest Indian College in Bellingham, Washington. The all-conference forward was a defensive specialist for head coach Aleta Moss in a 24-3 season that saw the Lady Chiefs finish third in the Class 2-A state tournament.
Hiwalker was a key player on two of Wyoming Indian’s three consecutive state 2-A titles in previous seasons.
She joined her sister Denaira who also played at the next level, and her father Mike who was a hot-shooting guard for the Casper College Thunderbirds.
Hiwalker is also a talented track athlete who placed in relays for the Lady Chiefs.
She is the daughter of Mike and Kelly Lee Hiwalker. She is the granddaughter of Gordon and Donna Hiwalker.
