It was a hot, windy Friday afternoon on the 400-meter oval east of Shoshoni High School. The Class 1-A / 2-A Regional Track meet began its final rendition for at least a few years as the meet moves to distant, isolated Kemmerer next year.
Mayhem in the Sprint Hurdles – Randy Tucker
Shoshoni freshman Alyssa Good had a fabulous day on her home track, winning both the 800 and 3200-meter runs.
Teammate Prestly Barta won the high jump at 4-11, and Lady Wrangler Sawyer Arnhold was the regional champion in the long jump with a leap of 15-5.
The Dubois 4×100-meter relay team of Ava Jory, Ayla Halpin, Jemma Wadge, Naomi Johnson won gold in 53.11

Shoshoni’s Brody Shepard was second in the 800 in 2:04.91 while Fort Washakie’s Wesley Underwood was runner-up in the 3200-meter run with a time of 11:12.90.
Wyoming Indian’s Colton SunRhodes was second in the Class 2-A 3200 in 10:43.00 and Shoshoni’s Cayden Harris won silver in the shot put at 43-6.75.
Preliminaries in the 100, 200, and 400-meter dashes and in the 100 and 110-meter hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles qualified eight athletes in each boys’ and girls’ division for Saturday’s finals.
