(Riverton, WY) – A 17-year-old Riverton boy was taken into custody for reckless driving in relation to an incident that occurred in the early morning hours of September 5, according to the September 5 Riverton Police Department call log.
The report states that around 12:21 AM, an officer on patrol observed a white truck traveling northbound in the 400 block of North Federal, driving at 70 mph in a 30 mph zone.
The vehicle gave chase until later yielding and pulling over in a parking lot in the 1700 block of North Federal. As the officer got out and approached the truck, it took off again, and another chase ensued in the northeast area of Riverton.
The driver eventually yielded a second time, and was determined to be a 17-year-old Riverton boy.
The subject was ultimately taken into custody for reckless driving, at which time he stated, “I don’t know why I did it” and “I like to go fast,” the RPD call log narrative states.
The identity of the subject was not shared in the report.
