Carol Ann Sandstrom, 83, of Riverton, Wyoming, passed away on June 14th, 2026, at Banner Wyoming Medical Center.
Carol was born on October 4th, 1942, in Bozeman, Montana, to Lester and Della (Rafferty) Covey, eight years after her sister, Barbara. She grew up in Bozeman and attended Bozeman High School, graduating in 1961.
On February 12th, 1966, Carol married Mike Sandstrom. Together they welcomed their only child, Teri, in 1967. In 1973, the family moved to Riverton, Wyoming, where Carol worked alongside Mike as the bookkeeper at Valley Motors and later at NAPA Auto Parts until Mike’s passing in 2000. She continued as bookkeeper and part owner of NAPA Auto Parts until retiring in 2005. After retirement, she moved to Helena, Montana, to be closer to her sister.
In 2018, Carol returned to Riverton to spend the rest of her life with her daughter, Teri, and only granddaughter, Tayln. During the final six months of her life, she had the joy of loving her great-grandson, Stetson, who quickly became her pride and joy. She passed away surrounded by the three of them, exactly as she would have wanted, on what would have been her late husband, Mike’s, birthday. Click here to continue reading…..
