Celest Ann Pugh passed away at her home, surrounded by her loved ones on May 23, 2021 in Lander, Wyoming.
Celest was born on September 13, 1940 in Superior, Wyoming to Kenneth E. and Pearl Race (Shepanovich). She grew up and attended school in Superior until 1953 when the family relocated to Hudson and eventually Lander.
Celest graduated from FCVHS in 1958 and went to work at Mountain Bell Telephone as an operator. She would later work for the high school, the hospital, and eventually retiring from home health.
During this time, she met the love of her life, Edward Pugh. They were married on August 21st , 1959. Together they had two sons, Eugene Edward, and Shane Alan. As a family, they enjoyed all the beauty and wonder that Wyoming had to offer, being avid fishermen and hunters. She enjoyed camping and spending time with all of her family.
Celest was preceded in death by her parents in 1995, her beloved husband Eddie in 1999, her brother Roy Race and brother-in-law Wally Cockerham both in 2012.
She is survived by her sons, Eugene (Margaret), and Shane (Crystal), her sister Shirley Cockerham, and her best pal, her dog Sugar, along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, one great, great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
Celest was very loved, cherished, and adored by her many friends and family members, she will be greatly missed, but her love will live in our hearts forever.
At her request there will be no services. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
