Douglas Cole Black “Doug” or “Dougie”, 65 of Riverton, Wyoming passed away on July 7th, 2025 in Billings, Montana after a brief illness. Doug passed with his Cousin Rita Whitesell and Aunt Becky Wieser holding his hand as he took his final ride to the Golden palace in the sky to join his daughter, Family and heavenly Father whom was waiting for him. Douglas is now in peace and free of all his pain.
Douglas was born in Riverton, Wyoming to Shirley Wieser and Tim Black. He lived in Dubois, Wyoming as a young child with his grandparents James and Lenore Peterson. Dougie also formed a lifelong bond with his Uncle Buzz Thurber. Douglas moved to Anchorage Alaska another brother was born John. Doug received his schooling in Anchorage and it is said that he was a ladies’ man, at least that is what Doug tells the family (wink wink)
Doug worked on fishing boats as well as crab boats during his younger years. Douglas moved to California where he did different construction jobs. Doug had two loves in his life one was his FXLR Harley Davidson which he kept during some rough times in his life, and still had when he passed. The main love of his life was Daughter Courteney Grace Veytia, this beautiful baby girl was born January 8th 1994 Courteney tragically passed on December 10th 2019. Doug was a proud Dad and remained that way until his death.
Douglas is survived by his brother John Weber of Alaska, Sister Betty Moreland of Wyoming, Special Friend Robin Rowland (Alaska) Aunt Wilma (Jack) Thompson, Aunt ADonna (Sam) Bell, Uncle Bill (Becky) Wieser, Uncle Bernard “Buzz” Thurber of Nevada, Richard Wilson, Rita Whitesell, Cliff Coburn, Denice Fabrizius and many other nieces nephews and cousins.
Douglas was proceeded in death by his Daughter Courteney, Parents Shirley Weber, Tim Black, Nephew Scott Tyler, Grandparents: Willard and Maxine Wieser, James and Lenore Peterson, Aunts Betty Wells, Beverly Owens, Joyce Wieser and Sally Lozier.
Douglas had many friends in the Riverton AA and NA community that he considered true friends and talked highly of them, Thank You All. Douglas had many friends at his apartment building who watched after him, the little ladies loved him and always asked if he was ok (Ladies Man LOL) Thank You All. And a special thank you to Sharon the
Manager for always having Doug’s best interest in mind. Thanks to all Doug’s special friends who road your bikes with him he loved you all!!! A great Day for Doug was when he put on his Damn Rings and Leathers and a Bandana and looked cool, you treated him
as your Family Thank You All.
As per Doug’s wish’s there will not be a funeral.
