James “Jim” L. Greenlee earned his wings on August 19, 2026. He was born on May 31, 1951, to Roy and Deloris (Cox) Greenlee in Omaha, NE. Jim grew up in Rapid City, SD. He moved to the Omaha area and graduated from North High School.
During his youth, Jim was an avid bowler and won many trophies in and around tournaments in Omaha. He went to Wayne State College and earned a degree in Vocational Counseling.
Jim worked with people with developmental disabilities for 46 years. He worked for several different agencies in 2 states. Jim finally retired when he was 70; he was loved by all, especially by the individuals themselves and their family members.
He played several different types of brass instruments. Over the years, he played in and led many different types of bands. He loved his Green Bay Packers and NE Cornhuskers. You’d find him tuning in to cheer on his favorite teams during football season.
Jim married the love of his life in 1995, Tammy. They lived in Lincoln and then Waverly, NE. They moved to Riverton, WY in 2018 so Jim could be close to his sister, Alice Burris. He felt Wyoming was home and loved living there. Jim retired from work in 2021. He worked really hard at staying healthy, and this was a full-time job.
For the last couple of months, Jim lived at Homestead Assisted Living in Riverton. He was so proud of his apartment and worked really hard to maintain his mobility. Jim was a complicated patient, but always kind and willing to follow doctors’ orders. Click here to continue reading….
