Kelly Kay (Mudd) Hatcher

Kelly Kay (Mudd) Hatcher, 64, of Riverton, Wyoming, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at her home in Riverton, Wyoming. Kelly was born in Casper, Wyoming, to Leota and James Mudd. She attended Jefferson Elementary, Dean Morgan Jr. High, and Kelly Walsh High School. In Casper, Kelly worked at the Hanging Tree and the Bon Marche. She moved to Colorado Springs, where she married Brian Hatcher and had her daughter Kassy. She ran a daycare out of her home. She moved to Glendale, Arizona, where she managed an apartment building and after purchasing a new home ran another daycare out of her home. Kelly later moved to Powell, Wyoming where she ran a cleaning business. She moved to Riverton, Wyoming to be closer to her daughter Kassy and her son-in-law Ben.
Kelly loved people and being with friends. She had a deep and lifelong love for music, especially Stevie Nicks, Fleetwood Mac, and AC/DC. She shared different musical pages on Facebook and music was an essential part of Kelly’s life. She also loved animals and enjoyed collecting crystals and rocks, hunting for fossils and petrified wood, and exploring the outdoors. Time spent with her family brought her the greatest joy, especially time spent with her grandson, Bryden. Kelly was a Christian in her own way and found comfort in her faith.
Kelly is survived by her daughter Kassy, son-in-law Ben, and her beloved grandson Bryden; her sisters Arlette Mascarenas and Kim Mudd; brother Jim Mudd; her nieces Kendra Soto, Alicia Frazee, Christie Hutcheson, and Lori Mudd; nephew Tres Mascarenas, as well as many cousins she kept in contact with on social media.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her maternal grandmother Rowena, and her brother Bill Mudd.
Services for Kelly will be held at a later date and cremation has taken place.
