Lucile Mae Wolfe was born April 3, 1931 in Oshkosh, Nebraska to Melvin and Vera
(Hunt) Wolfe. She was the second born of seven children. Her siblings were Leslie,
Carol, Linda, Lynn, Lawrence and Douglas. The family moved from Nebraska to a
homestead at Midvale, Wyoming in 1934. She attended school in Pavillion for all twelve
grades, graduating as the Valedictorian of her class of 1948.
She married Gerald L. Adams of Riverton in 1948, having five children, David, Janet,
Daniel, Larry and Michael. They moved from Pavillion to Riverview Valley in 1967. She
was active as a leader in her local “Make It and Bake It” and “Busy Beavers” 4-H Clubs,
and in the Riverview Women’s Club.
She lost her oldest son, David, in a semi-truck accident in 1969 just after his 20th
birthday. She carried an empty space in her heart from his loss for the rest of her life.
Lucile moved to Arvada, Colorado after her divorce in 1988 and took several service
jobs working with babies & children, including at Denver Children’s Hospital, Faith
Christian Academy and Montessori School in Golden. She always said this experience
prepared her to help her widowed son Daniel raise his four children while they needed
her from 1992 until 1995 when he remarried. She then retired and moved to Casper,
Wyoming where she married Gail L. White in November of 2000.
Lucile had a love of music from childhood and shared that love with everyone she could
her whole life. She played the piano, the autoharp and the accordion by ear, and sang
beautifully as well. She shared her talents by playing the piano in a band that
performed for community dances in the 1950’s. Years later she played for dinner
patrons at the Petroleum Club in Casper Wyoming and also brought joy to the residents
of several nursing homes in Casper and Brighton, CO by playing for them.
She had a thirst for adventure and trying new things. In her 50’s she decided to take up
skiing and remained an avid skier for over 20 years. Lucile & Gail enjoyed traveling and
socializing with the Good Sam’s camping club. She also fulfilled her wanderlust by
traveling to Malaysia, Hawaii, through the 14’ers of Colorado, to Glacier National Park,
Cabo San Lucas, and, of course, her many camping trips. One highlight trip for her was
a cruise to Alaska with all her children and their spouses. Her eyes just sparkled when
she reminisced of these times with her family! She was well known for taking pictures
of the things and people she loved and for playing cards and games. Bothof these
activities let her capture these moments and spend time with the people she loved, and
she passed that love of both down to her kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, and great-
great-grandkids.
Lucile loved life! Her faith and her family were her treasures every day. Her joy and
positivity were contagious and she spread that joy and love to each person she was
with. Her hugs were unconditional to anyone who wanted or needed one. Her faith in
God was shown in all aspects of her life and that love never failed.
Her last years were spent at Brookdale Assisted Living in Brighton, Colorado which
enabled her to be close to a large number of her extended family and her many friends!
She went to her final rest on December 7, 2024, after spending the day with her
granddaughters, singing songs and sharing memories. She was preceded in death by
her parents, all of her siblings, her husband Gail, and her son David. She is survived by
her children: Janet (Kent Hall) Jensen, Daniel (Jackie) Adams, Larry (Nancy) Adams,
and Michael Adams; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great
grandchildren! These are the ultimate blessings of a long life!
At Lucile’s request, there will be no services held at this time. A celebration of her life for
family and friends will be held April 5, 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel Hills Church in
