Marcus Charles Selvig
February 10, 1939 – March 17, 2025
Marcus Selvig died March 17th, 2025, at Elkhorn Rehabilitation Center in Casper Wyoming at the age of 86. He was born in Huron South Dakota, the son of Howard Christian Selvig and Edna Lorraine Selvig.
After high school he served in the U.S. Navy as an underwater demolitionist. He then attended Augustana College in South Dakota taking courses in art. He enjoyed drawing, photography, lapidary work and welding. However, fishing was his number one pastime.
In 1963 he married Mary, his wife of 61 years. They would then move to Riverton Wyoming where he obtained employment at Girard and Co. He would also work for Pathfinder mines for over 20 years. After the closure of Pathfinder, he started Selvig’s Painting and Remodeling which he would operate until retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Edna, and brother Rodney Selvig. Survivors include his wife Mary, sons Daniel Selvig and David (Sada) Selvig, grandson Tanner Selvig as well as beloved cousins and nieces.
A private funeral service will be held to honor Marcus's life and the profound impact he had on those around him.
