Nathan (Nate) Adam, Lander, Wyoming, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2025, at the age of 82 at home.
Nate was born in Bakersfield, California, on September 10, 1942, to Gerald and Evelyn Adam. Nate loved working with wood. At the age of 19, he began working in a cabinet shop, where he learned the process of building cabinets. When he retired, it was his favorite pastime to be in the garage with his saw and hammer. Nate loved going on rides in the side-by-side looking for rocks, as he would say, “pretty” rocks!!
Nate is survived by his wife Carole, of 64 years, a daughter Natalie and husband Brian, His son Tom and wife Kathi, sister Geralyn, 11 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.
Nate was a police officer for the Lander Police Department from 1968 to 1972. Nate was the handler of Chopper, the search and rescue and narcotics dog. Chopper was purchased and trained from donations of the Lander community, and he earned the prestigious Lassie Gold Award.
